Diploma end test. Are looking really positive considering this is the first year that 2nd yr and 3rd yr students have sat this on-line test, with no prior knowledge of its content by the staff teaching on the courses. Accoya

This is from on article in Saturdays edition of the daily mail, it was about investment really. but take a look.
'The business itself is based around a piece of science that has been around for 150 years. It is called acetylation - a process that changes the molecular structure of wood. Conker players wil be familiar with this - at least those who soaked their prime specimens in vinegar overnight to harden them up. The process used is not quite so crude, it relies on high pressures and temerature to inject chemicals into the wood to affect the transformation. What comes out the other end is a cheap softwood that can be easily cultivated and which has all the attribites of a hardwood. One of the prime qualities is the stabililty of thw wood which means it doesn't shrink or expand.' Check out the full aticle on www.dailymail.co.uk/money or Accoya website on http://www.accoya.com/ for more information.
